Credentials

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst in the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as authorized to practice telepsychology under the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT). For a list of current PSYPACT participating states, please click here.

I originally studied International Relations and German Literature at the University of Virginia, where I graduated with High Honors. Before embarking on graduate school, however, I worked for several years in both the public and private sectors. I have had the fortune to train in a number of clinical settings, including community mental health clinics, public schools, psychiatric hospitals, and university counseling centers. I completed an APA-accredited internship at the Johns Hopkins University and an APPIC-accredited postdoctoral fellowship at the George Washington University, where I also received my doctoral degree. I later completed a two year certificate program on Contemporary Psychoanalytic Couples and Family Therapy at the former Washington Center for Psychoanalysis. This unique clinical program, designed to train clinicians to work with couples and families, enhanced my understanding of family dynamics and the complex interface between the interpersonal and the intra-psychic. More recently, I graduated from the Adult Psychoanalytic Training Program at the Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis, an intensive six year training program that consisted of weekly seminars and case conferences, supervised psychoanalytic cases, and completion of a personal training analysis. Upon graduating, I joined the Institute’s clinical faculty, where I continue to be an active member, promoting psychoanalytic thought through a combination of teaching and writing.
