Before we meet. Many people feel unsure about seeking psychological services and have general questions about therapy and whether it is right for them. Before we meet, I schedule a time for both of us to speak briefly on the phone, not only to address these issues but also to get a better sense of what your needs are and if I can be helpful. Please contact me about scheduling a free consultation by phone.

The initial consultation. I consider our first one to three sessions an initial consultation for both of us. I would encourage you to view this time as “no strings attached,” an opportunity to learn more about me and my practice. By the end of the evaluation, I will be able to offer you a first impression of what our work will involve if you choose to continue therapy. Because therapy involves a significant commitment of time, money, and energy, it is important to take your time to select a therapist who is right for you. If we determine I am a good fit for you, we will schedule a follow-up appointment. If, however, we determine I am not the right fit for you, for whatever reason, I am always happy to provide referrals to other providers in the community.

Please click here to download and print out the Initial Consultation Packet and bring this with you to our first consultation session.

Payment. As an “out of network” provider, I do not work directly with insurance companies. If your health insurance carrier allows you to choose an out-of-network provider, as most PPO plans do, I can provide you with a statement of services to enable you to seek reimbursement from your insurance carrier. I encourage you to speak with your insurance carrier to verify coverage for out-of-network providers and for rates of reimbursement. Once you have received this information, I am happy to talk with you about a any questions you may have.

I will provide you with a monthly bill with all necessary documentation, however, it is your responsibility to pay me directly. I currently accept cash, check, or major credit cards.
